Tip #1

  • We guarantee the quality of the altered garment.

  • Free and no obligation consultations are provided. Please contact Circle The Date to schedule your appointment!

Steaming and Pressing Services
  • We offer final pressing services for dresses bought in-house or elsewhere.

  • Final pressings can be done on Bridals, Bridesmaids and other Special Occasion gowns at anytime during the week of the event.

  • Appointments are preferred for final pressings.

What to expect at your first fitting appointment.
  • All fittings take approximately 30 minutes.

  • You will need to bring any undergarments you are planning on wearing including your bra and slip to every alterations appointment.

  • You will need to bring the exact shoes you are planning on wearing the day of the event to ensure an accurate hem.

  • Fittings will start with any bodice work that needs to be done and the dress will be pinned to show you an ideal fit.

  • For dresses with a train, you will be shown bustle options.

  • Fees for recommended alterations will be discussed so you can decide on the best look that meets your needs and budget.

Tip #2

The alterations specialist will need to see you in your dress in order to discuss options and fees.

What to expect at your second and third fitting appointments.
  • The work from the first fitting is checked for comfort and accuracy. Don’t be concerned if the edges are raw. This will get cleaned up for your final fitting!

  • The dress will be pinned to show you the ideal length for the hem.

  • Once the hem is approved, a bustle style can be chosen.

Tip #3

A good length for a hem is about 1 inch off the floor. This way you won’t step on your gown or get it dirty before your walk up the aisle!

What to expect at your final fitting appointment.
  • You will need to bring the person who will be in charge of bustling your dress the day of the event.

  • You and your attendant will be shown the bustling process.

  • All alterations will be double checked to ensure comfort and accuracy.

  • Gowns that are being altered at Circle The Date can be stored in-house until the day of the event.

Tip #4

Remember to budget for the cost of alterations when choosing the gown of your dreams.
